[listen] Moguai Remixes Up A Storm – Britney Spears, Rye Rye and Underworld!
German titan Andre Tegeler, better known to the world as the masterful DJ and producer that is Moguai, has taken a month-long break from finishing his forthcoming artist album on Mau5trap Records, to dedicate all of his time and effort on 3 enormous remixes that will truly blow your socks off! Make no mistake, these aren’t just any old remixes – they are for three of the biggest names in the industry. Presenting, Underworld, Britney Spears and Robyn: The Moguai takeover!
Having recently headlined Ultra Music Festival and Sonar, and with a top billing at SW4 Festival just round the corner, Underworld are on everybody’s lips. The electronic prodigies now turn their sights to Moguai, commissioning him to work his magic on “Diamond Jigsaw” – the 4th single to be taken from their Billboard chart-topping album “Barking”. Joining Grammy nominated artist Morgan Page on remix duty, Moguai delivers us a record that not only proves his commissioned worth, but further demonstrates that he is one of the most stellar and respected ‘remixologists’ on the planet. It’s pure, unadulterated class.
Next in Moguai’s line of fire is none other than the undisputed queen of pop Miss Britney Spears. With an effortless shake of his creative wand, the German wizard steps it up a gear and reveals to all his matchless remix capabilities, as he re-rubs the chart-topping temptress’s latest single I Wanna Go to devastating effect. Throbbing bass growls and thudding industrial poundings, are intermittently soothed by haunting vocals from the Spears camp and sweeping synth pads that cascade above and beyond all worldly reality. It’s gritty, it’s dirty, it’s Britney – and it will put a big fat grin on your face.
Last, but by no means least, the in-demand Moguai joins forces with sensational Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn, and her female partner in crime; the all-rapping, all-dancing, US Superstar Rye Rye! In a different vein to the previous two entirely, and wholly unlike anything Moguai has released previously, this remix of Never Be Mine is a proper knees-up party-time stomper. Driving, military style kick-beats and warping basslines are laden with up-tempo lyrical verses, brimming with attitude – courtesy of rapper Rye Rye. Taking over the middle eight in style, Robyn’s unmistakable voice soars over an unexpected half-time dubstep breakdown from chameleon Mogaui. Building and building, the anthem finally dives head first into the more familiar four-to-the-floor style chaos that the Moguai faithful know and love. Phwoarr!
