Dark Light

Brett sent me a particularly enchanting email a few days ago, and I honestly went straight to download their ‘Dancer’ EP. Upon my first listen I got confirmation of the description of the bands’ sound he gave me: “party mystics making ecstatic synth pop music“. Teen Commandments are a Brooklyn synth-pop band with quite some cachet. Think of Depeche Mode’s ‘Personnal Jesus’ thrown at ease with easy sounding synths into 2013 and the lyrical edge of Joy Division, albeit with a little positiveness infused, a tad happier. The band launched last summer with a tour of Sweden, France, Germany, and Denmark. After a year of building buzz in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the clearly eighties influenced pair are putting out their first EP, ‘Dancer’. It’s a banger, and we can totally relate to these songs on many different levels. Can’t thank Brett enough for turning us onto his band. This is why they get a feature today! Not to mention, he sealed the deal by stating he was a regular reader/listener of our blog and was digging our previous feature : Twigs. Way to go Brett. Thanks for your support and encouragements. Guys, this is a must-listen, no questions asked, do what you do best and download their full ‘Dancer’ EP right here :
