Dark Light

Jeremie Whistler is a French native from the Alsace region but Parisian now. The guy sings in English. Produces some of the finest electro pop, right up SOHN‘s, James Blake‘s or Black Atlass‘ alley, albeit with welcomed pop edge to his tracks. In 2013, he dropped “Cold Heart” for free on the internet for free. And quickly got traction. His airy voice suits the dramatic background perfectly. Sometimes filling the atmosphere with electro-folk elements he manages to end this particular track in an frightening nightmare, listen to “Cold Heart” below :

The whole FLAKES EP (out on November 10th) is built around that voice of his, enchanting, with aerial phases. You easily get hooked on the melodies and the production duo Future Prospects backing his efforts, spearheaded by Rémi Sauzedde from the band Bois Noirs and Angelo Foley, producer of yet another instant French classic “Nuit 17 à 52” by Christine & The Queens.

However it’s “Holding On” we’d like to put forward today, listen above. The track gives a great insight into what you can expect from Jeremie Whistler in the upcoming EP.
He’ll be playing a string of live shows and is set to burn down a few venues at the same time. Needless to say you can already download the amazing sayCet remix of “Cold Heart” below and start getting your tickets lined up if you’re in Paris next week because he’s on the bill for the MaMA Event 2014 side by side with Camp Claude (whom we covered in previous weeks and can only recommend).
