Dark Light

This one is special for us ! Indeed, Belle Mare are back with a new album in the pipelines, and today they dropped their first single from that new opus due to be released later on in the year. They’ll also be hosting a string of shows in and around New York to support the single and let the crowds react to their new tracks.

They’ve been away, hibernating actively and working on this new album for quite some time. Since their debut EP was unleashed back in 2013 to be precise. “The Boat Of The Fragile Mind” EP was a truly beautiful thing to listen to as we covered back then. No wonder, SPIN magazine called it “Spaciously eerie” !

The debut album, recorded at the famed Electric Lady studio in Manhattan, with Grammy-winner Tom Elmhirst and producer Ben Baptie, and due to arrive this Fall.

Belle Mare formed in the winter of 2012 and his led by Amelia Bushell and Thomas Servidone, writing and recording their debut at Servidone’s Brooklyn apartment. Looking to fill out their sound for live performances, they recruited songwriter Tara Rook on keyboards, Rob Walbourne of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on drums, and Gary Atturio of Savoir Adore on bass. The perfect A-team if you ask me.

With the sound that made them Belle Mare. The pair, along with their side-kicks promise more diverse arrangements, and instrumentation more in line with their live performances and were persuaded by Ben Baptie to record the album with the same chemistry. With the least over-dubs as possible. The result is yet to be unveiled but their first taste in the track “Cicada” holds that promise. Listen (above) and go listen to their amazing debut EP “The Boat Of A Fragile Mind” is you haven’t added the precious to your favorites yet…(below).
