Dark Light

Ghost Hours – “Fever” (spin above)… Ron, aka, Ghost Hours roams around the sunny state of California. We nearly missed his great awesome dollops of cool music while ploughing through the moutain of emails we have populating the inbox at the moment. He describes his music like “a slow,chill- end of summer kind of sound like Chet Faker got drunk with Washed Out and made music to cure their hangovers.” Ghost Hours sums it up nicely indeed. And “Fever” is one of those great tracks, packed with a melancholy, a really convincing vocal performance and some truly sexy intrumental accompanying the wizzkid! Enjoy …

With the amount of music I have to spin, I can only select a few to do write ups on – it’s a one man operation here, and my grey cells are dwindling by the hour – so here’s a little weekly bonus selection of music we haven’t had the time to cover but really do recommend nonetheless. These one liners are where I usually start my posts. It’s packed with the latest tracks, gems, and dancefloor goodness you’ve come to expect from Sodwee.com. [title maintitle=”BEST OF THE REST” subtitle=”Select tabs on left…”] [tabgroup layout=”vertical”] [tab title=”HARRISON BROME”]Pools – Too good not to share ! Here’s the free download Harrison Brome promised and darn, he delivers. A really promising addition to his already impressive output. Waiting excitedly for the EP/Album…

[/tab] [tab title=”VANESSA ELISHA”]Latency feat. Cviro (prod. GXNXVS) – We have covered Vanessa Elisha extensively over the past year or so. She has gone to extra length with putting out some real treats in the R&B field from down under (Australia). Now she’s back fresher than ever with her latest number. And she still keep the bar real high. Love it !

[/tab] [tab title=”ROSIE JUNE”]Good News by Rosie June, from East Sussex in Britain is just what the title suggests when you spin the brand new single from the 23 year old Dreamy alternative pop artist who used to live just two doors down from almighty Paul McCartney (The Beatles) and has recently relocated to Vancouver in Canada.
Her forthcoming ‘Post Listening’ EP, drops on September 25, 2015 and this is what she had to say about this track : “In the song, I’m speaking directly to a few people I’ve known who passed away too soon. All you’ve got is us anymore, hanging on to [the memory of] you…”

[/tab] [tab title=”CHARLOTTE CANNON”]Travel Drivel – Produced by Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral) : Charlotte Cannon is a wonderfulartist we discovered only yesterday and thought : “my heck. Love her quirky sound”. “Cannon grew up listening to all sorts from David Bowie to the Sex Pistols. However, it was Jazz that really began to perk her ears the most. She’d be shoulder shimmying to the likes of Nina Simone, Tom Waits, Billie Holiday and Louis Armstrong.”

[/tab] [tab title=”LE SON”]Oscillator – Emily Ady and Liam Fergus met while studying popular music at Goldsmiths, University of London and have been writing for close to two years. “You’ll be hearing a lot more from the talented pair over the next months as new material is being baked. The cookies have not yet risen“. We have only published their track a few days ago and they unleashed “Oscillator” upon us this week. And we really think these guys deserve a push. So help us people get these talented young people to the top !
