With a North American tour with Mura Masa and Nao under way. A slot at Pitchfork Music Festival Paris this fall and two excellent EPs, Royah and Sleepy Hungry, under her belt. Bonzai is still the hot ticket in any town she heads out to. Today she revealed “I Did”, a brand new track we totally fell in love with. Some clear influences by M.I.A. here. It’s sharp and really well produced (nothing of a miracle when you know she’s signed to Mura Masa’s very own label, Anchor Point). “I Did” feels like a Michel Gondry video, without the visuals. Something that comes together once the video is over, in this case when the track is over. Something that only makes sense at the end. It doesn’t sell you the entire track in the first 30 seconds of it being played like most. So it needs to be spun in its entirety before you make any judgement.
