Dark Light

Toyko (pronounced toi-koh) is an anonymous Los Angeles (USA) outfit that already burst onto the scene to critical acclaim with their debut single “Ghost Pepper”. Today we have the privilege to bring forward “Stronger Love” as a first listen and track premiere. Pumped with cleverly pressurised electronic elements and that instantly likeable anthemic chorus, it’s a real strong offering from the band, so early in their career. The video is something to cherish too. Called a ‘Visualizer’, it depicts a nondescript human-like body executing a simple routine all the while, being covered in marble-esque textures. It’s very pleasing to watch and would render beautifully on the side of giant building or wall (hint-hint).

The band says of the track :

“Stronger Love” came after a night of heavy drinking and a bunch of poor decisions. Come the next morning, I knew I had hurt someone I care for deeply and wrote this song as a cry for forgiveness. It’s funny cause when I hear the song now it feels empowering, fun and uplifting but when I was writing the lyrics I was actually in a pretty dark place. I never set out to make a track like this, just sat down agenda-less and let raw emotion run its course.

Expect a lot more from Toyko in the coming weeks…
