Dark Light

It’s not often I come across reggae, ska and soul blended in together with such allure. But Terri Walker‘s soul, Joe Buhdha‘s production magic and a noteworthy featuring by Cockney Yardie extraordinaire Rodney P makes for the welcome change in my daily musical diet.

The track hits with the first few bars and keeps you mesmerized all the way through. It’s clearly a reggae inspired track with hints of ska thrown in for good measure. Joe and Terri’s Jamaican heritage brings added weight to the final production high-flying production here.

Best heard LOUD, from the very start.

“If dem interrupt your vibe yu haffi BREAK OUT”

Joe Buhdha Presents: Terri Walker is due to drop early this January.

“This project, for me, has been an essential one,” said Terri Walker over email to Complex. “I really just wanted to celebrate the unsung heroes; people like Joe Buhdha, who have done so much but don’t always get the recognition they deserve. So I literally had to force him to call the EP ‘Joe Buhdha Presents’, as without him, my pen is just words spoken into the wind. As for Rodney P—no words! Just listen to that fire he spits! Salute our kings. UK hip-hop royalty, the both of them. I’m so honoured I got blessed with their magic.”
