With their album “Sacred Ground”\u00a0<\/em>just around the corner and a mini European tour underway, Sophie sat down with\u00a0Ry X<\/strong>\u00a0at Ga\u00eft\u00e9 Lyrique, just before his concert on February\u00a018th, 2015. It was one of those freezing winter days in Paris. Sub-zero temperatures, very grey and murky… The kind of temperatures that could easily flirt with the kind of organic music that\u00a0Howling<\/em> will release with “Sacred Ground”.\u00a0The duo made up of electronic producer Frank Wiedemann and Ry X<\/strong> himself on with his now well-adored\u00a0trademark vocals, have been known to not play by any rules except their own. We expect that from artists, as we did from Ry X<\/strong>. RY X<\/strong>\u00a0started his career using his birth name. In an interview with\u00a0Entertainment Tonight<\/i>, he mentioned\u00a0Pearl Jam<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Jeff Buckley\u00a0<\/em>as the greatest influence on him.\u00a0He started writing music at 16, after he heard Buckley<\/em>‘s album “Grace”.\u00a0His song “Let Your Spirit Fly” appeared on the soundtrack of the 2006 film\u00a0Hoot<\/i>. He moved to Los Angeles, where he was signed by\u00a0Jive Records<\/em>, releasing his self-titled debut album on 20 July 2010.\u00a0He briefly toured with\u00a0Maroon 5<\/em>, becoming their opening act in select venues.<\/p>\n[separator type=”space”]\n
