You have got to love this totally 80’s vibe dripping from Samantha Urbani<\/strong> first single “1 2 3 4”. Samantha\u00a0Urbani<\/strong> is known for being the charismatic founder and leader of New York based\u00a0Friends <\/em>as well as collaborating alongside\u00a0Dev Hynes, <\/em>the guy we witness rise to gigantic\u00a0heights last year with\u00a0Blood Orange\u2026<\/i>\u00a0Anyway, that’s to say she isn’t a complete unknown for once and not unfamiliar with the scene.<\/p>\n

She just released “1 2 3 4” her very first debut solo work under her own name. If you liked Madonna in the early 80’s, you’ll definitely dig Urbani<\/strong>‘s funky debut track. With plenty of\u00a0congas, horns and the most infectious hook you’ve heard all week appear.<\/p>\n

Samantha Urbani<\/strong>\u00a0wrote\u00a0and co-produced the track\u00a0all on her own.\u00a0With Dev Hynes<\/em> contributing to piano and horn arrangements.\u00a0Samantha Urbani<\/strong> says of the track :<\/p>\n

Parts were recorded on the Metro North train from New Haven to Grand Central, in Dev<\/em>\u2019s old East Village apartment, in Samantha\u2019s secret hermit home, in Matt\u2019s Bushwick shred palace, and in Sam\u2019s Hollywood dungeon studio.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
