We knew we had come across a really special voice when Grace Lightman<\/strong> first released her stunning debut \u201cVapour Trails\u201d<\/a> a little while back. So, naturally, when she drops a mind-blowing cover of traditional folk song \u201cBlack Is The Colour\u201d featuring the delicate\u00a0expertise of\u00a0William Harvey<\/em> and\u00a0Maddie Cutter<\/em>\u00a0from Parallax Orchestra, it\u2019s with great pleasure we take the moment to share it with you.<\/p>\n

Lightman<\/strong> lays her now distinctive signature vocals\u00a0on a track many artists have previously covered from\u00a0Nina Simone<\/em> to\u00a0Paul Weller.\u00a0<\/em>Packed with emotional outbreaks, the cello strings by Maddie Cutter<\/em> for added\u00a0darkness and the genius behind the silent breaks Grace Lightman<\/strong> shows off her striking vocal abilities and masterful piano skills.<\/p>\n

Recorded live at Middle Farm Studios <\/em>in\u00a0Devon, the track blends\u00a0shaky piano lines, majestic\u00a0strings, and that voice \u2013 so instantly recognisable amongst millions \u2013 the same one that has made Grace Lightman<\/strong> what she is now and the future direction she\u2019s heading towards.
