In the era of chillwave,\u00a0birthday<\/strong>\u00a0mixes harmonies and a\u00a0lo-fi effect to his tracks that make everything sound like it’s been around since the early 2000s when music videos were always shot on the beach and all your friends knew (or wanted) to skate. That feeling is especially strong in\u00a0Grown Up Kids<\/em>, which\u00a0birthday<\/strong>\u00a0brilliantly pulls off as a youthful anthem for kids and those who occasionally suffer from\u00a0a Peter Pan complex.<\/p>\n

Each song speaks to a different emotion.\u00a0Babyface\u00a0<\/em>is particularly good with isolating out that internal longing.\u00a0Subtle Love\u00a0<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>is a bit of a melodic wonderland that moves\u00a0listeners from one harmony to the next. birthday<\/strong> is\u00a0poignant in his lyrics, like in\u00a0Le Drugs<\/em>\u00a0when he sings:\u00a0“Will you love til the drugs are gone and you move on…*<\/em>” and hits\u00a0all the right\u00a0feelings without telling you how. Keep on eye on this boy because if\u00a0his bio<\/a>\u00a0(mentored by a Grammy winning producer, preformed with various artists like Ariana Grande<\/em>, Boys Like Girls<\/em>, etc)\u00a0foreshadows anything, it’s that he’s ready for\u00a0everything.<\/p>\n
