It’s not everyday that an artist we’ve been following returns with such excitement. Ever since Ben Khan’s<\/strong> music endeavours came under our radars four years back when he released his debut track “Drive” (Part 1), we wanted to hear more of his music and\u00a0his automotive-fetish. His crooning on the ‘1992’ EP was pretty special:\u00a0 “I wanna steal the car \/ Just for the thrill \/ Drive it around town \/ Getting up to no good Do you wanna come with me?<\/em>“. Today, our wish is at long last granted in high-fashion, Khan<\/strong> displaying a mean black 1983 Nissan Fairlady Z with retractable headlights and cementing his success as he fills the gap he left wide open whilst holing up around two years ago in order to record his long-awaited debut album, which we learn, is expected to be released this summer via Dirty Hit<\/a>.<\/p>\n[imagebox maintitle=”Tired of lambos ?” subtitle=”” image=”https:\/\/sodwee.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/nissan_fairlady_1983_photos_2.jpg” color=”white” space=”70″ link=”no link”]\n

Today, he drops the first single off that forthcoming LP\u00a0titled “2000 Angels”. Some brand new material from the London-based artist. And boy how good does it sound. It’s all you want from Ben Khan<\/strong>, and a whole\u00a0lot more. Lush, intricate production, heavy instrumental lines with plenty to feed off and a seismic groove to satiate your thirst. Ben Khan<\/strong> knows we missed his music and definitely wants you to know. A bold statement in the form of a dystopian video he self-directed to great effect, does exactly that.<\/p>\n

For this new album, Ben Khan<\/strong>\u00a0worked with some of the industry’s heavyweights including\u00a0PJ Harvey, Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails collaborator Flood.\u00a0<\/em>The album and “2000 Angels” was mixed by Spike Stent (who himself worked with Frank Ocean and Bj\u00f6rk). Ben Khan<\/strong>\u00a0as a multi-instrumentalist, proves it once more the breadth of his artistry by playing every single instrument you hear on every track.
