Simplicity and swagger are responsible in equal parts for the charm of “Weekend”, with just a few well-chosen sounds spinning up the song’s lush summer-scape. Same goes for the vocals, warm and understated, but with a seeming bit of mischief that helps set the scene for those lost July nights of yesteryear. At it’s heart, “Weekend” really does hit me as a summer love song, rife with all the hazy, substance-tinged fun of any good fling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
