We start with the Thursday Line-up :<\/p>\n

M83<\/strong> is the\u00a0electronic\u00a0music project of the French artist\u00a0Anthony Gonzalez. He and former member\u00a0Nicolas Fromageau\u00a0founded the group in 2001 in Antibes, France. M83\u2019s style owes a lot to the\u00a0shoegaze\u00a0genre, in that there is much emphasis on tonality, extensive use of reverb effects and often softly-spoken lyrics at times submerged in instrumentation. M83 was named after the spiral galaxy \u201cMessier 83\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

S\u00e9bastien Tellier<\/strong>\u00a0(French:\u00a0<\/small>[t\u025blje]; born November 30, 1974) is a\u00a0French\u00a0singer,\u00a0songwriter\u00a0and\u00a0multi-instrumentalist. He is currently signed to\u00a0Record Makers, a French independent record label. He sings in\u00a0English,\u00a0French\u00a0and\u00a0Italian.<\/em><\/p>\n

James Blake<\/strong>\u00a0(born October 1988) is an electronic musician and\u00a0singer-songwriter\u00a0from London, England, United Kingdom. Blake is primarily considered a\u00a0dubstep\u00a0producer and is frequently heralded as a leading figure in the \u201cpost-dubstep\u201d community, but he is also noted for his prominent\u00a0soul\u00a0influences. Blake was nominated the Critic\u2019s Choice award by the 2011 BRIT Awards and the Sound of 2011 award by the BBC, and won second place in the latter. In addition, his self-titled debut LP,\u00a0James Blake, was nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize. Blake has also released material under the alias\u00a0Harmonimix.<\/em><\/p>\n

Chairlift<\/strong>\u00a0is an electropop band which formed in 2005 in Boulder, Colorado, United States. The band consists of Caroline Polachek (vocals, keyboards) and Patrick Wimberly (bass, drums). The third founding member, Aaron Pfenning (guitar, synths, vocals), left the band in 2010.<\/em><\/p>\n

The band formed in Boulder, Colorado in early 2006 to make live music for haunted houses. Frequenting the Broker Inn on the edge of town for empty late-night jazz shows, Polachek, Pfenning and Wimberly were mystified by the 1980\u2019s faux-gothic architecture, oak-cabinet aquariums, vacant dancefloors, fake trees, crystal chandeliers and dark velveteen booths.\u00a0The inn provided them with the ideal setting for a new breed of pop: a place where subtle clashes blossomed into uncanny pleasures.<\/p>\n

Japandroids<\/strong>\u00a0is a Canadian rock duo from\u00a0Vancouver,\u00a0British Columbia.\u00a0The group consists of Brian King (guitar, vocals) and David Prowse (drums, vocals). Formed in 2006, Japandroids rose to prominence in 2009 following the release of their debut album\u00a0Post-Nothing. The group toured extensively throughout 2009\u20132010, earning praise for their energetic live performances.\u00a0<\/em>Their sophomore album,\u00a0Celebration Rock<\/a><\/em>, was released on May 29, 2012 in Canada and June 5, 2012 internationally<\/p>\n

John Talabot<\/strong>\u00a0is a\u00a0Spanish\u00a0DJ,\u00a0Producer\u00a0and\u00a0electronic musician.\u00a0Talabot had released a number of tracks in 2009 but rose to fame with the track\u00a0Sunshine\u00a0in 2010. He released his debut album\u00a0Fin\u00a0in January 2012 on Permanent Vacation garnering a 5 star review in\u00a0The Guardian.<\/em><\/p>\n

Factory Floor<\/strong>\u00a0are a London-based band formed in 2005, they have been described as \u2018post-industrial\u2019, using live drums, synthesizers and noise.<\/em><\/p>\n

A lot of bands meet as kids at school. Others come together after an over-enthusiastic conversation about music at some random party. Aluna Francis and George Reid however, met through the internet.<\/em>
\nWhile their online encounter is more MySpace than Match.com, it was in fact through a mutual respect for each other\u2019s work that led them to go on to form AlunaGeorge. Now together for just barely a year, the talented duo have been churning out a series of infectious mixes which fuse Francis\u2019 sweet vocal harmonies with the hushed electronic stylings courtesy of Reid.<\/em><\/p>\n

DIIV<\/strong> (previously known as\u00a0Dive) is an ongoing project composed of\u00a0Beach Fossils\u00a0guitarist Cole Smith, Devin Ruben Perez, Andrew Bailey, and ex-Smith Westerns\u00a0drummer Colby Hewitt. DIIV\u2019s first release, the\u00a0Sometime\u00a07\u201d on Captured Tracks, was released on Oct. 11th, 2011,\u00a0Oshintheir debut album was released in June 2012.<\/em><\/p>\n
