Dark Light

From Baltimore in the United States, comes a brilliant musical oddity in the name of Captain Morris. Also known as Daniel Neiman, the eighteen year old, produces high-energy, fun, child-like and tropical tracks that will undeniably get your body shaking in an unstoppable way. Add the witty, humoristic lyrics to the mix and you’ve got yourself some quirky psychedelic-pop numbers that you’ll be having on repeat soon and hopefully be sharing amongst your office neighbors soon enough.

Why don’t oysters give to charity?
Because they’re shellfish

As Neiman says himself: he remembers fondly filling endless cassette tapes with recordings of him and his sister playing pretend hosts for a radio station. The young Baltimore-based artist is fueled by various genres as a kid. Inspired by Jazz greats like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Duke Ellington, as well as alternative heroes Elvis Costello, Talking Heads, and the Cure, Neiman has developed a musical identity true to his own.

Hey, do you think you’re moving a little too fast?
‘Cause you run run run run run run well you run so fast you’re running out of gas

You’ll love the music if you’re fans of Animal Collective, LCD Soundsystem and the Beach Boys. Expect Captain Morris to conquer far and wide with his addictive instrumentation, drum line persuasion and overall groove know-how. You won’t regret hitting play on “Asdo”, and “Beat Town Anthem” further down:
