As I said in a previous post, we like to circle back from time to time to the golden age of music blog and resurface some bands that have been around for quite some time now. Back in the hay-day (in early 2013 that is), we championed Brooklyn, NY duo, Belle Mare, with the sensational EP “The Boat Of The Fragile Mind”. And a with another single titled “Cicada” in 2015. Bella Mare is back with yet another impressive hat-trick. Enter “What Haven’t I done” (listen below) and indulge in the brilliance of a well-executed slice of dream-pop. The track tells the tale of unrequited love that turns south to eventually blossom in the ability to take advantage of the situation and overcome.
Belle Mare formed in the winter of 2012 and his led by Amelia Bushell and Thomas Servidone, writing and recording their debut at Servidone’s Brooklyn apartment. Looking to fill out their sound for live performances, they recruited songwriter Tara Rook on keyboards, Rob Walbourne of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on drums, and Gary Atturio of Savoir Adore on bass. The perfect A-team if you ask me.
