Dark Light
Art Daley

Benny Mails has been on our radar since Loyle Carner’s manager tipped us a while back. And the London rapper hasn’t disappointed us with his steady output of realness. Latest to come by is track “Senses” featuring Art Daley. Signalling the release of his debut mixtape. Currently on tour supporting another favourite of ours in the name of Yellow Days after performing alongside dudes like Loyle Carner (obviously), Jay Prince and Cosmo Pyke. Benny Mails is quickly rising to the heights of the actual London music scene with quality jams all round.

“Senses” is one of those tracks you know will just grow, grow and grow even more on you. Based on the true story of Benny getting cuffed for graffitiing with King Krule (yup, the same guy who’s hotly anticipated album “The OOZ” comes out this week) at the tender age of 16. The track features the guest vocals from collaborator Art Daley and production skills by Kid Kanevil who candidly sampled Joe Henderson’s ‘Black Narcissus’ (click here to listen).

With raw lyricism, akin to his London grime-scene upbringing and a showmanship only acquired through breakdancing and performing contemporary dance at pretty darn high levels. Benny Mails is setting himself up to release his debut mixtape later on this year. Combining his unique taste for quality songwriting, sourced rhythm and one of a kind flow.

Catch Benny Mails live this autumn in Paris while he stops over with Yellow Days for a slot at Pitchfork Music Festival Avant-Garde and listen to his newest track “Senses” featuring Art Daley below:
