Dark Light

Saturday. The best day so far this week. I was randomly shuffling my numerous MP3’s this early afternoon and the following track came up and I just froze whilst I was hoovering around in the flat. With a gracious & swift move of my left leg, I pointed with my toe at the switch to turn the noisy hell machine off and just posed there the whole duration of the song. You wonder why…?

Well you might join me in this one. After listenning to this piece, I felt like I was back in those summer days, those smells, freshly cut lawn, perfume mixed with sweat when you’re on the tube etc. etc. And it felt even better when you looked outside to see the day with blooming sunshine, blue sky and relative heat. When you listen to that song, I really think the Marimba does the difference. Skip the Marimba and you’re in Aberdeen in no time, the wind “en sus”.

I think you’ve had enough of me blabering about the Rolling Stones’ classic on the ‘Aftermath’ album released in 1966.

Today was fun, thanks to Mick Jagger and me treating myself to all new clothes and suitcase. Prepin’ for Dubai and it’s heatwaves/sunshine/dust. Went straight to American Apparel to get myself kitted out. They truly have the best choice in terms of t-shirts, and the cut is perfect for each one. Colors are wild too. Before that, Mum (+aunty Ali + Mark + Sarah & Dad) took me to the biggest department store (Galeries Lafayette) to find some shirts and a tie. Yep it’s an odd sight but I’ll need them once I’m in Dubai. So all in all, my credit card has burnt. I’ve polluted mother earth with a few more plastic bags. Fair traded with cotton farmers, and ate a healthy lunch.
