Dark Light

Cold pop’s newest dream team invites you in.

The genre-blurring, heartstring-plucking new project from Will Lister, Max Winter, and Imogen (with a side-eye nod to The Knife). Born during a four-week creative sprint in the basement of West London’s Laylow, they’re the first — and only — band ever formed during the venue’s now-legendary residency. And what did they emerge with? A sound they call “cold pop”: atmospheric, emotional, and just weird enough to be addictive.

Thredd’s debut album ‘It’s Lovely, Come On In’ drops August 15 via Scenic Route, with lead single ‘Party’ arriving July 16 — a euphoric, synth-drenched offering for the emotionally unhinged (no shame, we’re all there).

Written in real time and performed live every Wednesday with no safety net, the record channels raw immediacy, creative freedom, and the slightly haunted energy of Laylow’s winding back rooms. Expect post-trip-hop beats, melancholic harmonies, and lyrics that cut like a soft breakup text.

Since that fateful November, the trio has supported Nourished by Time, played the ICA, and continued cross-pollinating their talents from their shared South London studio. Now they’re hitting the road with Slow Cooked for a UK co-headline tour.

This isn’t polished pop. It’s lived-in, late-night, and slightly bruised — for anyone “up for a party, down for a cry.”

Hang on a minute ! What is Scenic Route ?

Once a London club night with more taste than budget, Scenic Route has morphed into one of the most exciting underground labels on either side of the Atlantic. Recently crowned “underground music’s most exciting label” by The Face, it champions artists who colour outside the genre lines — from experimental electronics to avant-pop and everything woozy in between.

Steered by Theo Fabunmi-Stone (XL Recordings) and Jon Phonics (Astral Black), Scenic Route keeps pushing boundaries while quietly building a global creative playground — no genre tags required.
