So. This month I’ve been rostered for french destinations thrice. Because every single flight must have a destination language speaker (does that make sense ?). It’s good. It means I get to go back home for a very short period of time, but for free. And I get payed for it too. The allowance in Paris is around 104 euros (or around 600 AED), which is spent half an hour later on your taxi ride home…!
The flight over to Paris was the lightest load I’d encountered since I started, and probably the last time I experience it ! We had 60 pax in economy on a B777-300 which can hold around 300 “self-loading freight” souls. Service was a joy ride ! Passengers in economy had a 5-star service. They payed for eco, and got a business class service ! Hows that uh ? Anyways, the crew was fun, flew with : Celia from Portugal (I randomly went out clubbing with her because she knew Nivine, another french crazy chick that started at EK with me), Kristy from Vancouver in Canada, Tasnuva from Bangladesh, Jing from China, Sergio from Brazil, Masud from Bangladesh, Yei from South Korea and a few more. Our SFSs were fun too, namely Binu from India and Judy from Kenya !
So got into CDG, awarded the most un-welcoming airport in the world. Went straight to the hotel to pick up the cash and grabbed a cab home. Mum, Dad, Nick & Granny welcomed me home after 3 months in the desert, they had australian friends round for dinner so it was nice to have a chat. Finally took a shower and lifted to go see Hadrien at his. Fun times, nice to catch up on the latest gossip. The day after, I’ve managed to see Fiona for a little lunch at Westin near Place Vendôme and a stroll in the park ! Too short tho, because I had to head back home and slide my uniform, shave and take another ludacrisly expensive taxi ride to the hotel. Check out the pictures below…

Since then I been well asleep in my flat in Dubai. Had around 14 hours of deep, much needed rest. Too much in fact because I only have a few hours before leaving for FCO (Milan) and then Nice (NCE). So the only thing I did between waking up and getting back into bed was ironing. The uniform mainly. I needed a fresh set because Butler’s are to darn slow at delivering the laundry you submit, it takes them 3 days to wash your uniform. That’s if they haven’t lost an item along the way. I’m missing a pair of trousers and it’s already been 4 weeks they’ve been looking for without a sign.
Anyways, I’m about to hit the sack so I’ll keep you updated within the next few days.
