From the lush greens of the surrounding mountains, to the deep blue waters of the Garda Lake near Venice in Italy comes HÅN. A new signing to the fledging record label founded by friends Marco, Mattia and Marta of italian music blog powerhouse Going Solo. She debuts her career with a great single ‘The Children’ which will strike you as mature and full of sense. With mastered vocals that go head to head with electronic drum lines and vocals that will recall London Grammar’s tone and timbre. HÅN also adds guitar chords and synths reminiscent of where she comes from in Garda lake. The result is expansive and colourful. Melancholia hits, it is profound and captivating.
HÅN explains the track:
When I write something I’m used to building lines in a way that the final song is a complex of concepts that stands on its own. I like every line to have its own life. I love the lyrics to be a bit hermetic and not to go in only one direction, as they were a sort of mystery that has to be solved and interpreted by the listener. ‘The Children’ is like someone running away from the things that they know and from the place in which they always been, becoming aware of the oppression of ‘the safe place’. At the same time, they feel like they’re inevitably bound to their home. It’s a kind of ambivalent feeling of both growing and missing what you leave by living this process.
‘The Children‘ will be released on May 19th via Factory Flaws.
