Here is a special voice and songwriting powerhouse I’ve come to really appreciate over the few listens I’ve clocked so far. Mai Mai delivers quite the punch with singles “Over Critical” and “Found Your Love”, the latter behind the latest release by young RnB-Soul, singer-songwriter Mai Leasantos A.K.A. Mai Mai
“Found Your Love” is all about that wild, slightly stalker-ish kind of love where you’re utterly convinced you’re the only one who truly ‘gets’ your partner, complete with matching T-shirts, a scrapbook of their favorite snacks, and maybe even a pin board of their daily schedule. The lyrics drip with passion and a confidence so bold, it’s like saying, “Good luck finding someone who can recite your coffee order in their sleep while also knowing exactly how you like your fries” It’s a delightful blend of devotion and playful defiance.
Also on our radar, bleeping furiously is her previous track “Over Critical” that really shows how serious this artist is about the output and importance of the production value of a track for maximum impact on first listen.
