Dark Light

Here’s the band Misun, with a new track called “Superstitions” which we absolutely fell in love with just recently. We know we just got on the bandwagon, but whatever, still hot’n’sizzlin’. It manages to capture that last essential ray of sunshine from a bliss afternoon, turn it around and deliver a real darn good tune. Or is it the fuzzy electro-pop infusion of genres like pop, hip-hop and clearly some influences from psychedelic era of sixties rock’n’roll ? Or is it just the mesmerizing vocals floating ? Both most likely. Listen to “Superstitions” above, and get absorbed in their prolific output below.

Misun themselves have dubbed the genre in which they evolve as “Aquawave”. They were all working in the same restaurant, that’s where they met. Discussing music, having heated conversations over the kitchen pass. And finding similar tastes between two orders and after closing. They formed Misun in Washington, DC. However they’re now based out of Los Angeles, CA.

The band enjoyed early adoption by power-houses like Pitchfork and other influential blogs and scored multiple #1 hits on The Hype Machine. With the luck they strike with each release, the story can well repeat itself today with “Superstitions”. Here’s three tracks we love from Misun for good measure :
