Dark Light

Hello Hello Hello.

Well, finally got here safe & sound. As I was telling you in the previous post, we had a great flight… We arrived in Dubai International on time, spent 20 minutes on the transit bus (the airport is massive) and my fellow colleagues are cool. There is Nivine (French/Lebanese), Gilbert (Lebanese), Benjamin (French), Mathieu (French), Gregory (French). Those were the ones I traveled with from Paris CDG. They will be in the same Training Batch as me, starting next Sunday (tomorrow).

I’ve moved in with someone called Khalil (haven’t met him yet) in an enormous flat on Sheik Al Zayed Road – the major carriage way crossing Dubai – it’s noizy but very central. It’s bloody hot here. It’s around 28°C and blazing sunshine. Taking advantage of it to work my tan.

Sheik Al Zayed Road - Dubai - Sodwee - AirboyWill be posting pictures as soon as I take them. I’ve been wandering around all afternoon. Checking out the facilities. Have seen the Emirates Laundry where I can have my suits dry-cleaned ! The grocery shop is at the bottom of the building too. Thank god we have restaurants around ! Just walked passed a Chinese one. Seems nice. And believe it or not, I’m in wonderland : 20 metres away from my building, I have a selection of fast food including Subway, McDonalds, KFC, Starbuck, Pizza Hut, Burger King, YES BURGER KING ! So I won’t be starving Mum, don’t you worry !

Also along the pavement is this wannabe French Café where I can be spoilt to croissants, opéra cakes, mille-feuille and WIFI connection !! Been sitting at their terrace for almost 3 hours now ! Luuuuuving it to bits !
