Dark Light

I spun this for the first time and had a double-take. Who am I listening to ? Is this London Grammar ?? It wasn’t. Although the comparisons are evident.

Arctic Lake are a trio from London making ambient tracks for the masses. Fronted by female singer Emma, who holds an impressive vocal spectrum. The kind that does not leave one unphased. They had previously uploaded a debut track in late 2014 called ‘How Long Can You Stare’ (watch video below), but to what seems like a record label decision, had to take it down/un-list it from public eye… in order to reboot the promotion campaign around another single and/or direction.

And here we are today, with their second track “Limits” that is as promising as the debut was. Staying true to their sound, it’s a welcome sight after months of that London Grammar tsunami and subsequent overplaying, overdose we had to endure. That said, we did LOVE the album, before it went global.

Arctic Lake have snagged up some pretty impressive support by local as well as national media. Prominently featured on Amazing Radio and BBC Introducing to name a few. They are promised to rise and shine in 2015. Like, lick and love the sounds of ‘Limits’ (above) and stay tuned for more awesome dollops in the VERY near future.
