With rolling drums and a keen ear for colorful, slightly hued psych-pop and cheerful melodies. The Norwegian trio Great News comprised of Even Kjelby, Kim Åge Furuhaug and Ole Kristian Einarsen feast on bands such as MGMT and Tame Impala and influences from AC/DC and Fleetwood Mac to produce some real catchy tunes with great effect. Also adding brilliant guitar riffs and great vocal delivery to the mix will make you love the music they offer. “Wonderfault” is the track I was hooked with and also happens to be the title track of the upcoming album of the same name due out in October this year. The Wonderfault album consists of dreamy psychedelic pop, blended with big choruses and catchy hooks.
The album will be out via Eget Selskap in October.
The band had a rather busy year in 2016 where the band headlined the Norwegian showcase festival by:Larm, performed on the main stage at one of Norway’s biggest festivals Øyafestival and played their first UK gig at London’s KOKO. Great News are currently in the studio wrapping up their debut album Wonderfault. Listen to the title track below:
