A Love Song You Can Headbang To
Wet Leg are back and they’ve brought a defibrillator. After two gloriously chaotic shows at London’s Brixton Academy and a buzzy slot at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, the Isle of Wight duo drop “CPR”, the palpitation-inducing opener from their upcoming second album moisturizer (landing July 11th).
On the surface, it’s a love song. But as Rhian Teasdale asks “Is it love, or suicide?” over a sleazy, swaggering beat, it becomes clear: this ain’t Wet Leg Does Barry Manilow. It’s sardonic, sultry, and unhinged in the best possible way — with a chorus that kicks like a mule in platform boots.
The self-directed video is classic Wet Leg: one-take, headbanging, and wonderfully weird. It’s like peeking into a fever dream — or their group chat on shuffle.
Despite Teasdale once declaring herself allergic to love songs, moisturizer is full of them — albeit twisted, tongue-in-cheek, and totally on brand. It’s raunchier, louder, and bolder than their debut — like someone turned the Wet Leg dial to 11 and broke the knob off.
Alongside “CPR”, the band’s also announced UK outstore dates (hello, Kingston’s Pryzm), a European tour in October, and the brilliantly-named moisTOURizer — a 22-date North American run starting September 1st.
