HIRA drops “Dangerous Moves”, a Paul Institute power move

It’s HIRA season. London’s most enigmatic multi-hyphenate and Paul Institute mainstay just dropped his latest single, “Dangerous Moves,” and trust us—it’s got the sonic adrenaline rush of a 3 a.m. drive through Tokyo streets in a souped-up Nissan Skyline.

Let’s rewind for a sec: since 2016, the Paul Institute—brainchild of the almighty Paul brothers, Jai and A.K.—has been the secret sauce of London’s left field pop scene. With a roster that reads like a genre-bending Avengers lineup (Jai and A.K. Paul, Ruthven, REINEN, Pen Pals, Fabiana Palladino, and, of course, HIRA), these folks are consistently serving up forward-thinking pop that flips the middle finger at the algorithm.

HIRA’s journey with the Paul Institute began when A.K. stumbled on his HIRA KING tracks and saw something special—a vibe somewhere between Akira’s neon glow and a night out in Camden’s grimiest basement club. Cue “Eve” in 2017, followed by “Red Light Drive” (which HIRA produced himself, no biggie). By the time “Unreal” landed on the Institute’s Summer 2020 EP, it was clear HIRA wasn’t here to play around—he was here to leave a mark.

Fast-forward to now: “Dangerous Moves” is the latest transmission from HIRA’s sonic workshop. Co-produced by HIRA & Mahir Mistry (the duo now known as MaHira), with A.K. Paul’s signature bass guitar flair, sax licks courtesy of Rosie McCrum, and a final polish from Mahir Mistry and Harry Craze at the mixing desk, this track is dripping in Paul Institute DNA. And if that wasn’t enough, Dave Collins gave it the mastering sparkle it deserves.

Think: cinematic synths meet sweat-slicked R&B, with just the right amount of neon-futurist heartbreak. A dancefloor-ready jam that’s both shadowy and defiant—HIRA at his most “Dangerous.”

Oh, and mark your calendars: the full album drops October 6, 2025. If this is just the starter, then buckle up for the main course.

Stay tuned—this is just the beginning.

“Dangerous Moves,” out October 6, 2025.

Lyrics_ Dangerous Moves

Lately I hear a question in my mind
That maybe I, I don't know when to run
I don't believe it's time, I'm not done
I hear a voice inside, saying

When you make your dangerous moves
Who are you trying to prove?
Moving to your dangerous groove,
Do you, think you...

You have nothing to lose,
Nothing, but you
No nothing to lose,
Nothing but you

Who am I to not want to share your fear
If I look behind, I know you won't be there
I don't believe I'm right, but I'm not wrong
Is it your voice inside, saying...

When you make your dangerous moves
Who are you trying to prove?
Moving to your dangerous groove,
Do you, think you...

You have nothing to lose,
Nothing, but you
No nothing to lose,
Nothing but you

You've got nothing to lose
It's all on you

Don't let your heart ache
(you've got nothing to lose)
Step to make the break
(It's all on you)
Don't let your heart ache
(you've got nothing to lose)
Step to make the break
(It's all on you)

You've got nothing to lose It's all on you
