Oliver Sim turns desire into a gothic spectacle on newest single titled Obsession
If you thought Oliver Sim had already bared enough of his soul with Hideous Bastard, think again. With Obsession, the XX co-founder doubles down on the theatrical flair, dripping noir-pop melancholy and cinematic tension like a vampire with a taste for synths.
It’s lush, it’s eerie, and it slinks across the speakers like a forbidden crush you know you shouldn’t text back at 3 a.m. The production winks at 80s decadence, think Depeche Mode’s darker corners, while Sim’s baritone remains the magnetic center, all velvet restraint and looming danger.
