Dark Light

Gallant is an artist you will read more about in the coming weeks and will be a permanent fixture in your curated playlists for the rest of #2015. Recently signed to Mind Of A Genius, ZHU‘s current home and hit-making haven, he drops a effortless, simply huge track called “Open Up” (produced by Stint) today and we cannot help but think, where did this talent hide for the past years ?

The song “Open Up” will be available on Spotify and serves as a teaser for Gallant’s upcoming EP slated to drop this summer.

Thankfully for us, he has already self-released some material on Soundcloud, that we had featured in Sundaze #73 with the wonderful track “Manhattan” produced by the equally skilled Felix Snow. You can listen to that track just below…

Gaining critical acclaim from Pitchfork and The FADER in early 2014 for his debut self-release, Gallant is a Los Angeles, California based R&B singer with huge vocal depth, broad electronica sounds  that define a new era in the future of alternative R&B. He penned this project by diving back into his personal diary and came up with this genre-bending, absolute vision of a track with this personal ballad and after a year off touring, Gallant returns, fresh as ever, surprising and touching the hearts of anyone who adventures past the play button (above).

More on Mind Of A Genius Records :

In 2013 “Mind of a Genius Records” was established in Los Angeles, California. Inspired by the ideas of XL Recordings and Motown RecordsDavid Dann aimed to turn the studio into a place where artists would be able to realize their ideas to the highest standard possible, and experiment away from the pressures of running up bills at a commercial facility. Both the label and artists operate under the same roof, creating an extremely special place of constant creativity and efficient outcome.
