Dark Light

Glints has already released the great ‘Glints’ EP late last year and made waves amongst the blog scene for providing music hungry aficionados with the kind of conscious hip-hop that was largely missing from the European landscape then. With the approval of a number of of said blogs and support from artists like Jamie XX, Everything Everything as well as Years & Years, the Belgian newcomer is back today with the newest cut titled “Egotism” from the upcoming sophomore ‘Burgundy’ EP .

Incorporating modern-soul elements into the hip-hop song with so much ease, blending his Antwerpian via London Cockney accents (he picked them up as a kid as he spents his summers in the British isles) into a fusion of styles and clever arrangements, Jan Maarschalk Lemmens (his civil name) manages to keep us on edge and captivated. Something that’s hard to achieve in this day and age with so much happening around you.

It’s a definately pop oriented, brilliantly put together piece of music, with poetic vocal interventions and luscious musicality.

Glints’ forthcoming EP Burgundy, drops in early 2017 via PIAS.
