Dark Light

Requin Chagrin is one of the most intriguing French artists that landed in Paris at the tender age of 18. And has since worked hard to make music influenced by her peers drenched in melancholic synths and driven by percussive lines. Today, Marion Brunetto (her real name) is back with a tender sonic number titled “Déjà-Vu” recorded last year at the height of the European lockdown. The first single off her forthcoming album “BYE BYE BABY” due out later this year via KMS Disques.

With a clear DIY approach as well as the confirmation, help, and support by friends like Ash Workman, the sound engineer (Christine & The Queen, Metronomy, Veronica Falls), Chab (Daft Punk, AIR, Sebastian) for the mastering. And being signed to Nicola Sirkis‘ label KMS. Multi-instrumentalist Marion Brunetto brings her personal signature sound to the final product by playing ALL of the instruments and keeping a tight-leash on each and every decision.

Watch Déjà-Vu by Requin Chagrin

Requin Chagrin is a must-have in anyone’s French music collection from her debut material to her beautiful cover of “Les Plus Mauvaises Nuits” originally by Indochine via her breakout single “Adélaïde”.

Lyrics:

Quand la nuit pleurait de l’or
Je voyais parfois
L’étoile qui brillait plus fort
Et filait tout droit

Je la suis je n’ai pas peur
Mais elle me foudroie
Comme attirée par erreur

Dire que ce n’est pas
La toute première fois

J’ai déjà vu
Autre part
Sous la lune
Dans tes bras
Déjà connu
Malgré moi
Pas prévu
Cette histoire

Quand la nuit pleurait ses trésors
Semait ses balles
Des balles perdues dans le décor
Et filaient tout droit

M’atterrissaient en plein coeur
Sans trop de dégâts
Comme attirée par erreur

Dire que ce n’est pas
La toute première fois

J’ai déjà vu
Autre part
Sous la lune
Dans tes bras
Déjà connu
Malgré moi
Pas prévu
Cette histoire
