Dark Light

After taking the world with a storm by releasing the track Rarri in the heart of summer 2018. Amilli is set to release her debut EP “Wings” with the majestic one-take wonder that is her lead single “Movie” and the beautiful video that accompanies the release. From Bochum, Germany, the 19 year old singer “slipped into” the making of her EP ‘Wings’ “by accident”, processing life as a new artist.

Amilli‘s voice feels totally in control yet sheds fragile outbursts and the single “Movie” gives her the aura she needs to get this heartfelt message across. Albeit at this very young age. “Movie” is an effective ballad she wrote herself, on the piano, with a powerful message to her soulmate. It is her most personal track as Amilli mentions in the quote below :

Movie is probably the most personal song I‘ve ever released. It‘s the first song that I composed all by myself on the piano and everytime I play it live, I‘m completely in my zone and blending out everything else around me. It‘s just a really special song to me and I‘m hoping that people can feel this too.

Dabbling into lush, complex production and eventually ditched that angle all together to focus on the vocals, lyrics and a minimalistic piano instrumental to accompany her. It's a bare bones approach to her music and a bold statement at that. Not hiding behind any effects, or filters. Leaving no margin for error.
