The Grogans flex their fuzzed-up muscles on the punchy new single “Social Cue.”
Just when your playlist seems full, The Grogans return. They don leather jackets and crank their amps to eleven. Their new song, “Social Cue,” teases their upcoming album, Stagger, which drops on May 23rd.
This Melbourne trio means business. “Social Cue” is a gritty, riff-driven nod to their rock ‘n’ roll roots. Picture greasy garage guitars, pounding drums, and simmering frustration—all within four minutes. It feels like biting your tongue at dinner and then flipping the table. “Dig in and turn it up to eleven,” they say. You should take their advice.
The track comes with a no-frills, all-thrills live video filmed at Melbourne’s Sing Sing Studios. It’s sweaty, scrappy, and has a gloriously unpolished quality—just the way The Grogans prefer it.
The band just returned from a 16-date US tour. Australia wasn’t big enough for them. Now, they are getting ready for shows in WA’s Margaret River and Esperance. They’re also gearing up for another US tour this June.

Pre-save “Stagger”, their fifth album set to be released on Friday, May 23.

Their fifth studio album, “Stagger,” offers more than a rehash of their garage-rock days. It’s a jagged mix of styles and moods—a mixtape for the modern malcontent. Get ready for a wave of energy! You’ll find thoughts on mental health, self-care, and tricky relationships. Plus, there are some sweet love songs thrown in.
The Grogans recently snagged the spotlight in Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s Future of Music series. They get lots of praise for their “endless supply of melodic, fuzz-drenched riffs.” They rock hard on tour. Their relentless passion has cultivated a fiercely loyal fanbase that craves every note.
CW Records has released “Social Cue” now, and Stagger will come out on Friday, May 23. Consider this your cue to jump on board.
