Dark Light

Crash-landing back into pop, pleasure, and the most honest rave of her career. Robyn announces Sexistential, her 7th album.

Sexistential finds Robyn crash-landing back into pop with a knowing smile and zero interest in playing it safe. After the slow, introspective club meditations of Honey, her ninth album delivers nine punchy, playful tracks that feel immediate, ecstatic and very much alive. Think propulsion, not reflection: this is pop as impact.

Written after the end of a long-term relationship and during her decision to pursue single motherhood, Sexistential is fearless in its honesty. Robyn sheds the “saint of heartbreak” role and leans hard into pleasure, softness and desire—sometimes all at once. The album’s bratty title track alone rewrites the rulebook, pairing strobe-lit beats with razor-sharp humour about IVF, dating apps and bodily autonomy, proving once again that no one does vulnerable club bangers quite like her.

Sonically, it’s a homecoming. Longtime collaborator Klas Åhlund is back at the controls, Max Martin rejoins the fold for the first time since Body Talk, and the chemistry crackles. Old-school songwriting meets modern production, with nods to Prince, French touch and pop futurism, all anchored by those unmistakable Robyn basslines that feel reinvented rather than repeated.

Where Honey dissolved emotion into atmosphere, Sexistential pulls feeling straight back onto the dancefloor. It’s defiant, sensual and deeply human—an album about choosing yourself, trusting your instincts and dancing through the uncertainty. Robyn didn’t just make it back from deep space; she returned with her sharpest, most joyful pop record in years.

Sexistential will be released on 27th March 2026 via Young.

Little Simz – Lotus

Little Simz’s “Lotus” is a soulful victory lap—Simz flexes her lyrical confidence and vulnerability in equal measure. Featuring heavy-hitters like Sampha and Michael Kiwanuka, it’s a record that balances introspection and fire, proving once again she’s the boss of her own sonic playground.
