Dark Light

Spearheading the confessional hip-hop movement as The Guardian once named it, being sensitive and eloquent in his flow as NME stated, Benjamin Coyle-Larner, better known by the stage name Loyle Carner has stormed the british hip-hop scene over the pond with some of the most forward-thinking beats and bars of an old-school emcee trapped in the body of a new artist.

Loyle Carner originated from South London, and has been a force of nature ever since he dropped his debut EP A little Late in 2014. Now into his second year as Loyle Carner, the fella has toured the British countryside extensively, touring and promoting his next set of brilliant tracks. Listen to his A Little Late EP below, you can download the entire release for free, when you sign-up to his newsletter

You’ll dig his humble, no non-sense quick delivery flow, and for someone to put so much personal grief, attitude and great lyrical content into tracks like the ones we’ve featured here is a feat in itself. It ain’t easy. Benjamin Coyle-Larner was diagnosed with ADHD way back as a school kid. Being bullied for it and the now 20 year proves them very wrong as he cuts through the crap in the most creative way. Collecting special featuring and collaborating with the high-profile rapper/artists of his generation, Loyle Carner went on to release a Speedy Wunderground 7″ with Kate Tempest, to setting up cookery classes for ADHD students as he finds cooking a very relaxing means of channelling the downsides of having to deal with such a condition.
