Dark Light

If collecting raving accolades by influencial writers from around the music blog sphere, accolades from established media and signing to the same record label that saw Francis And The Light, Mick Jenkins and Lil Silva blossom and become who they are now. Then there’s virtually little doubt Yellow Days will soon enough become the next big thing in the bedroom-pop realm to breakthrough. And we’re not the only ones stating that fact. The young 17 year-old from Haslemere in the UK (a.k.a. George van den Broek) today releases his debut EP ‘Harmless Melodies’ to his eager newly acquired fans out there. Think of his music as the best a broken Amy Winehouse could deliver lyrically in her darker days, with a hint of sunshine over the top to lead you to a happier place layered with broken, gritty crooning blues vocals of an adolescent to round things off nicely and in the best possible result.

It’s frightening how strong the emotions are conveyed. Translating, by the weight of them across his full EP, into a blissful yet sad piece of magical music about odd and confusing times one might go through. So if you’re in search of the perfect depressive soundtrack, with a hint of luck and happier times ahead, look no where else. You’ve found what you’re looking for in Yellow Days. It’s a brilliant EP with two previously unreleased tracks :’People‘ and ‘A Little While‘, listen below.
