If it wasn’t for the nod to the legendary rock’n’roll queen of the 80’s Debbie Harry. I might have skipped the chance to hear this compelling track by Newmen all together. A neo-wave outfit based in Frankfurt (Germany) and producing some intricate beats, staggered guitars and head-spinning synth lines for our listening pleasure.
If you care about bands and artists like Caribou, Tame Impala, Air, Ratatat, Fuck Buttons, Darkside and Bonobo you’re in for a real treat here as Newmen channel a little piece of each on new single ‘Debbie Harry’ and previous release ‘Electric Eel’ embed further down the post in the PASSPORT section.
Another clear hint as to what is to be expected sonically from Newmen in 2018 as they prepare to release a string of like-crafted tracks filled with vintage synthesizers, drums, drum machines and exotic percussions and chaperoned by veteran producer with Elias Förster who also worked with Sea Moya and Still Parade in the past.
The band explains:
From rediscovered treasures to recent wave adoptions, from psychedelic dreams to electronic rhythms, from drone walls to Italian holidays, from NYC muscle to Autobahn Düsseldorf. Take your pleasures seriously!
Can’t stress enough how promising this sounds. So I can only point to the track itself (below) in the hopes you will dig the jams with us, by the way, it’s out today ‘Friday 8th of December via Ferryhouse.
