Dark Light

Formed in Bristol (UK) in 2019, the Oslo Twins met at University and consequently dove into a creative frenzy during lockdown with band members Eric Davis and Claudia Vulliamy producing demos remotely. The band found a strong backing by MAS Records that helped find the perfect producing powerhouse in Seth Evans, who had just worked with the liked of black midi and HMLTD as well as Ali Chant who himself worked with Perfume Genius, Aldous Harding and PJ Harvey.

Their debut single “The Edge” was recorded at Hermitage Works Studios in North London and features diverse influences and effective pop methodology in the composition of the track. Bringing hooks and pop melodies to the resulting sound. A refreshing approach to a saturated playing field. The punchy, open sound of “The Edge” is influenced by new wave and industrial music, with a dark and addictive vocal melody.

The track began as an expression of frustration, which led to its dark undertones. When the lyrics and vocals were added, it was adapted into something more positively defiant and sensual. The lyrics come from a place of existential curiosity, and a longing for excitement over ennui at any cost.

Say The Oslo Twins.

We stop on the road
And you show me heaven’s ghost
Is this as far as it goes
Where the night sky’s just a dome

I, I’ll do it
I just wanna go to the edge with you
It makes me feel good
I, I’ll do it
I just wanna go lose my head with you
It makes me feel good

(Take me, take me further again
To the edge with you
I wanna feel the rain
At the edge with you)

Take me further again
To a galaxy of blue
I wanna feel the rain
Can you show me something new

Cause I, I’ll do it
I just wanna go to the edge with you
It makes me feel good
I, I’ll do it
I just wanna go lose my head with you
It makes me feel good

(Take me further again
To the edge with you
I wanna feel the rain
At the edge with you)

(To a galaxy of blue
At the edge with you
Can you show me something new
At the edge with you)
