This introducing post should spark some follow-through from our readers in light of songwriter Adrian Galvin‘s debut track “Heavy Love”. An individual you’ve probably already seen in and around bands from the simmering Brooklyn scene. He also co-founded the duo Yellerkin in 2013.

Today, brand new Brooklyn project Yoke Lore released debut single “Heavy Love,” the first offering from his debut EP Far Shore, due out May 6 via B3SCI Records.

Growing up in an artistic family, Adrian’s mother being a director and his father an actor and sculptor. It is safe to say he was immersed in all kinds of arts, eventually steering towards the drums. In fact, he came up the Far Shore EP artwork himself.

As Adrian puts it himself :

Yoke Lore is about connections and contact. Music is a medium for communicating ideas and identities and stories. Yoke Lore is a set of stories; a collection of mundane accounts of relationships between people and things. We use these stories both in times of dejection to find solace and in times of bliss in order to remember ourselves… Yoke Lore is a mythical language that gives voice to all of us who at times cannot articulate why living is so tough.
