‘Told Him’ is the new alt-pop bop from Lenis, a California based songstress. It’s her first full release, having performed a handful of features for fellow San Diegan Zuma. The emerging electronic producer is actually the man behind the buttons on ‘Told Him’.
“The first version of the song only came out to about a minute and 30 seconds. It was sweet and simple but we decided to extend it to a full length song,” says Lenis. The resulting track is underlined by a brash hip-hop / future bass beat, with flecks of rhythmic synth work dancing in and out. However, Lenis‘ vocal shines and breaks through the production, her melodies punctuate the beat and flow effortlessly through the backing.
