Dark Light

They say you can’t go home again. “Northern California”, the latest single from future Indie duo Limón Limón, is a ballad to a hometown – an exploration of all the things that make a trip back to a place where you’ve lived a lot of life so much more than just a trip.

Listen to “Northern California” by Limón Limón:

There’s a nice, lush sentimentality woven throughout “Northern California”. The guitar, piano, and drums all have a rose-tinted softness to them that manages to make you feel like you’re driving the Pacific Coast Highway and the street you grew up on at the same time. Throw in some great songwriting supported by killer vocals, and the sum of “Northern California”‘s parts is a perfectly daydreamy piece of Indie pop-rock that can be as thoughtful or as effortless as you want it to be on any given listen.

Guess I lost track
I told myself that
Heavy on my heart, pulling me apart
But I keep coming back, I keep coming back

Whether you’re in the mood for thinking back or looking forward, Limón Limón has all the right vibes to satisfy. Maybe I’m just a jaded East Coast-er with too many romantic notions of California, but man does this song feel right.
