Dark Light

I don’t think it gets any closer to a smooth track than “Sunset Plaza” by Mackenzie Morris. The ideal “late-night drive soundtrack” addition to your playlist says the 20-year-old newcomer from Los Angeles, California (USA). And I concur wholeheartedly. The track brings elements of bedroom pop, soul, and a sprinkle of chillwave akin to a trusted Rex Orange County track.

Production and performance skills that Morris taught himself mostly on Garageband late in his high school years and perfecting over time whilst attending Emerson College in Boston to study screenwriting. All the while getting a bunch of shows under his belt. Mackenzie Morris‘ debut track “Sunset Plaza” is a serious first attempt. We cannot wait to hear what in store next.

Listen to “Sunset Plaza” by Mackenzie Morris below:

Driving up your spine nicely with these great verses, leaving you to mumble a few words in awe when the chorus really hits back home gently. The perfect addition to any heart-break scene in any given drama. “Sunset Plaza” is as cinematic and sync-worthy as it sounds. Play it now, figure it out for yourself…

I’ll be smoking on sunset plaza
Writing notes on my wrists
As I stroll along the stolen hill
I hum a song that sounds like this

It sounds like mhmm
It sounds like mhmm
It sounds like mhmm

I’ll be squatting on a dirt patch
Insects sitting on my suntan
Dance with gina on the mountain
Best believe we’re humming songs that

Sound like mmhm
They sound like mhmm
They sound like mhmm
They sound like mhmm
