Viagra Boys – Viagr Aboys: meatheads with sax appeal
Oh, Viagra Boys, back at it again with Viagr Aboys, their latest slab of musical mayhem that hits like a sweaty saxophone at a goth disco. Released on their own Shrimptech Enterprises label (yes, seriously), this album is a deliciously chaotic buffet of satire, sweat, and a healthy dose of meat metaphors.
Opening with “Man Made of Meat,” frontman Sebastian Murphy channels his inner degenerate poet: “I am a man that’s made of meat / You’re on the internet looking at feet.” Talk about a line that sticks in your teeth like day-old kebab. It’s as if the band’s decided to make a concept record about the messy, absurd, and sometimes downright hilarious state of being human in 2025—where influencer culture and deadpan humor meet in a dark alley for a quick snog.
Guitar riffs slash through tracks like “The Bog Body” and “Store Policy” like a bar fight on a Saturday night, while Murphy’s deadpan delivery dances between profound and profoundly stupid—and that’s exactly what makes it brilliant. The sax is back in full sleaze mode too, naturally.
If Cave World was a political punch in the gut, Viagr Aboys is the band with its pants down, winking at you from across the bar. It’s Murphy’s own confession that he’s tired of the whole political circus—so why not make a record that’s a bit “simple and stupid” (his words, not mine) but still sharp enough to cut through the noise?
Live, these guys are still the best-dressed mess you could hope to see, saxophone and sweat included. Venues on the tour schedule better be ready to mop the floor after they’re done.
Viagr Aboys is a raw, raucous, and irresistibly danceable middle finger to the modern malaise. Get your meat on. Buy your slice of the madness here:

“Viagr Aboys,” out now on Shrimptech Enterprises.
