James Brown – The Soul of a Black Man feat. Maceo Parker

Summer is hardly here, it’s still pouring it down like there’s no tomorrow. Rolland Garros is just over, Wimbledon is about to start. It’s a Tennis special for Sundaze Playlist Sixteen ! Packed with energizing bizzies and plenty of chillaxed tracks for a perfect Sunday afternoon doing pretty much nothing. Check them all out, cause they’re worth the spin. A notable mention goes to my fave track of the week “I Swear” by ensemble Sallie Ford & The Sound Outside whom hail straight from Portland, Oregon (US). As well as a brilliant edit/rework from goldfinger DJ Mercury for giving second life to Marvin Gaye’s hit song : “Sunny”. A track that will blend in rather nicely while you iron your shirts in time for the Monday morning rush to work. Let’s not forget it’s already summer… Let’s pray for some decent weather in the coming days. Or the suicide rate will spike…

And before you head anywhere else, I’d like to introduce Oxmo Puccino to all the non-french reading. This guy is pretty swank when he starts rapping. He originates from the same neighbourhood as yours truly (the 19th district here in Paris) and the director of the video was one of my classmates back in the days. Colin Solal Cardo who now shoots truly awe inspiring videos for “The Take Away Shows”. You might of heard of them before. Check them out :
