New Zealand super group Leisure have been on our radar for yonks (as you’ll find out here) and have always impressed me with their laid back soundscapes and easygoing vocals tied ingeniously with clever lyricism. They remind me JUNGLE on a lower gear. With lush production value and tried and tested signature sounds that are to be enjoyed best in a live setting.
They have just recently released a brand new cut from an upcoming sophomore album due out on July 26th via label house Nettwerk. Leisure perform live very rarely as they all have independent, successful lives as musicians, producers and songwriters on the side and finding themselves all together in one place at the same time is proving a difficult undertaking. However, and luckily for us, they’ve announced a string of local (Australia) shows as well as one-offs in some European capitals. Waiiiit foooor iiiiit : Including a free concert in Paris at the Pop Up du Label. Which is so damn rare these days, it needed a big old mention splattered across the post. I’m pretty excited, understandably.

The new single titled “On My Mind” is the quintessential tune. Complete with a catchy chorus and melody. Leisure classic guitars that have got the band noticed in the first place and that nonchalant attitude and vibe to the whole end result. It’s a banger you’ll soon be revving up at your friend’s pre-bevvies and warm-up gatherings.
