Dark Light

With plenty of experience under his belt, Starchild, better known as Solange‘s young guitarist on tour, has recently dropped some real quality tunes and a new video for us to enjoy while we wait for his new project “Crucial” to emerge.

Bryndon Cook, 19, from Brooklyn, is (or was) part of the hippest pack of American Apparel employees. He has worked with other talented artists, producers such as Chairlift’s Patrick Wimberly and no other than Dev Hynes, a.k.a. Blood Orange. He is now ready to impress his own audience with his silk-sophisti-pop-funk akin to Blood Orange’s trademark sound. It is delicate, yet funky enough to boogie to. The young man’s influences include Sade, Prince, Terence Trent D’Arby and Morrissey.

“All My Lovers” is an extract of Starchild’s future project called “Crucial” with a yet to be announced release date. Keep your eyes peeled for this guy. Follow him and enjoy “All My Lovers”… as well as our favourite track “Gemini” he released a few months back. 😉
