In under 4 minutes, “Mooncatch” stilled the light in San Francisco and turned day into night. As heard on Secret Songs, a music community by Ryan Hemsworth, “Mooncatch” is a collaboration between New Zealand singer-songwriter Lontalius and producer CutMyLips. CutMyLips started this song after a trip to Old Castle, and the majestic elements, old and ancient feelings only Mother Nature can bring out, ring all throughout “Mooncatch’s” composition. Lontalius‘ simple lyrics also hold their own, letting the song speak for itself through plain storytelling. “Mooncatch” is an impressive song that encourages strength and peace, like carrying yourself over mountains, even if it means taking breaks through the fog.

“he broke me
but i feel better now that it’s just you and me
in summer i can’t help but dream of you lonely
maybe i thought that you could be sweeter
maybe it’s not that i wasn’t good enough
but i promised that i wouldn’t let you down
yeah i promised that i wouldn’t let you down
sometimes i feel like my own friends are keeping things from me
and i let my phone die so i couldn’t see what they told me
but i try my best to forget
i haven’t said much that i won’t regret
but maybe i’ll prove to you that i don’t look at him the way i look at you
maybe i thought that you could be sweeter
maybe it’s not that i wasn’t good enough
but i promised that i wouldn’t let you down
yeah i promised that i wouldn’t let you down
but maybe i’ll do to you what you did to me”
