Dark Light

You’ve heard it a thousand times: unknown band puts song online, Soundcloud garners hundreds-of-thousands of plays, band gets signed, band plays large homecoming show, etc.

But it’s rare to hear it like this before: after being scooped up by Columbia and releasing a short-but-stellar four-track EP, Rockaway Beach’s Lewis Del Mar played their third-ever New York headline in the form of a sold out Bowery Ballroom. How many bands can sell out a 500-cap room with only four songs to their name?

Lucky for us, we got to hear their whole forthcoming LP live for the first time, and I’m telling you these guys are going to be huge, blending the polyrhythms of Alt-J and forthcoming tour-mates Glass Animals with the organic Afropop sensibilities of Vampire Weekend and some hip-hop, sun-tinged vocals effortlessly.

We’ve finally got a video now for debut single “Loud(y)”, so watch below, as the Queens duo embark on a night of debauchery.
